Ms Peiling Kong (Psychologist)

Pei is a clinical psychologist (AHPRA PSY0001687492) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in psychology and clinical psychology. Pei has published research on the prevalence of eating disorders in female elite athletes. She is currently conducting research alongside Dr Gary Banks on improving the efficacy of child protection interventions in clinical and forensic settings. Pei has presented her research at various state and national conferences.

Pei’s experience include working with children from 5 years of age to adolescents and adults who present with a range of complex presentations such as emotional and behaviour problems, anxiety and depression, bullying, self esteem, body image concerns, addiction and trauma. Pei has worked in Out of Home Care, whereby she provided behavioural support and assisted in case management of children, adolescents and families with disadvantaged backgrounds. She maintains ongoing interests working with victims of domestic violence.

Pei’s expertise and professional interests also extend to conducting psychological assessments with individuals of all ages, including cognitive functioning, emotional and social functioning, memory, learning, and behaviours. Additionally, Pei has facilitated performance enhancing group seminars for elite athletes, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based groups for children and adolescents focused on managing exam stress, as well as pre-employment job-readiness groups. She continues to mentor elite youth female athletes in New South Wales and Victoria.
