Dr Tan has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Private Practice since 2006. He consults regularly as a Gastroenterologist at Tennyson Day Hospital and Calvary Wakefield Hospital, where he also performs regular endoscopy and colonoscopy lists. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and Malay. Dr Tan graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours, in 1997. Following Internship and Physician Training, Dr Tan then went on to undertake specialist training in Gastroenterology and Nuclear Medicine (including Positron Emission Tomography -PET) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide. Dr Tan was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2004 and was recognised in endoscopy and colonoscopy training by the Conjoint Committee in 2005. He was also admitted as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Physicians in Nuclear Medicine (ANZAPNM) in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Australian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists (FAANMS), and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine. Dr Tan had also previously served as a Staff Specialist in Gastroenterology at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. He is also a Nuclear Medicine and PET Specialist, as well as holding the positions of Staff Specialist in Nuclear Medicine at Lyell McEwin and The Queen Elizabeth Hospitals in Adelaide since 2006.
