Desmond Yip is the Clinical Director of Medical Oncology at The Canberra Hospital, Professor at the ANU Medical School and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra. His main clinical and research interests are in the area of upper and lower gastrointestinal oncology and development of biological agents. He also has subspecialty interests in renal cell carcinoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumours. He has been involved in the revisions of the NHMRC Clinical Guidelines in Colorectal Cancer and the Cochrane Collaboration systematic review of pharmacologic and radiotherapeutic treatments for advanced pancreatic cancer. He serves on the Cancer Institute NSW eviQ Medical Oncology Reference Committee and is an active member of the Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group and the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia. He has been involved in the publication of over 100 journal articles and invited book chapters.
