Imagine your life as if it was a mountain. Each of us are on a journey to climb it all the way to the top. On the way you are challenged with a variety of obstacles - it may be a boulder, a fallen tree or even a big scary bear. Now and then, we all need a little help to get through these stressors and strains that life can put in our way. Psychologists also have their mountain to climb. However from where they are sitting, they can see your mountain and can pin point a safe track to the top. They can help you learn ways to manage life’s challenges; to get around that bolder, to get under that tree, to run away from that bear and help you find your way back onto the journey to the top. Using a warm and caring approach I help clients develop greater self-awareness and give them constructive strategies for managing and dealing with emotional problems and difficulties. As a Psychologist I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their individual goals. I understand that each individual's experience is unique, and therefore their treatment must be tailored to meet their needs. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental and friendly environment in which clients can develop new skills in managing their current difficulties, while building on their existing strengths. I apply researched and up-to-date psychological treatments to a variety of psychological difficulties and needs. I draw on a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Enhanced Cognitive Therapy (CBT-E, specific for the treatment of Eating Disorders), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I practice in accordance with professional and ethical codes of conduct outlined by the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Since 2007, I have worked professionally in a range of settings including the Department of Juvenile Justice, Joondalup Youth Support Services, Centrecare and Headspace (Australia’s national youth mental health service). This experience has allowed me to work with a variety of clients in various ages from a range of socio and cultural backgrounds. Within these roles I have:  provided assessment and categorization of mental health presentations
