Dr Yen-Yung Yap offers a comprehensive care plan in women’s health, starting from an independent assessment to a thorough discussion of options to help patients select the most suitable management program. He has taken a patient-centred approach, with a strong focus on continuity of care and effective yet minimally invasive techniques.
Dr Yap works primarily in:
Fertility care: Ovulation Induction (OI), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)/Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI). Gynaecology: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), period problems, pelvic pain, ultrasound and colposcopy. Pregnancy care: Comprehensive. After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2001, Dr Yap did his early postgraduate training at Lyell McEwin Health Service, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
In 2005, he went to Queensland for his specialist training on high-risk pregnancy, ultrasound scanning, and vaginal and laparoscopic surgeries. After obtaining his RANZCOG membership, he did further training in advanced laparoscopy in Brisbane and reproductive medicine in Adelaide. He is also a certified colposcopist.
With his breadth of knowledge and expertise, Dr Yap is able to provide you with an in-depth understanding of women’s health issues, which extend to fertility, pregnancy, contraception, vaginal prolapse and menopause.
Dr Yap consults at Ashford and various other locations as listed, and provides IVF treatment at City Fertility Centre Adelaide. He is culturally sensitive and is comfortable conversing in other languages.
Awards and achievements:
Scholarship to complete Cambridge A Levels and medical degree at the University of Adelaide. Best Intern for Medicine Award in 2002. RANZCOG Fellowship in 2011. Master of Reproductive Medicine in 2013.
