Veronica is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and specialises in working with children, young people and their families. Veronica has over 15 years of experience working in this field both in the public and private health sector and has held clinical and managerial roles. Veronica has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide variety of emotional and behavioural concerns experienced by children and young people, which include mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, life-cycle transitions, and grief. She also has experience in supporting parents who are requiring support with early childhood difficulties (e.g. toileting, feeding, separation anxiety) perinatal mental health and supporting families when there is a child with a parent with a mental illness. Veronica’s therapeutic orientations include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment based interventions (she is also accredited to run Circle of Security groups), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Veronica works collaboratively with clients to enhance their understanding of the presenting issues, develop new coping skills in order to bring about positive change, within an evidence based and practical framework. Veronica completed her studies at the University of Wollongong and has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is a full member of both the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, she holds clinical endorsement from the Psychology Board of Australia and is also a Board approved supervisor.
