Dr Lisa Cheng is one of the two principal partners at the Practice. Dr Cheng graduated from University of New South Wales. After she graduated she has been trained in various hospitals for internship and residency prior to joining the Paediatric Training program at Sydney Children Hospital where she was working as a Paediatric Registrar for 2 years. Dr Cheng then worked in Palliative Medicine before joining the Family Medicine Speciality and later on became the Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Cheng holds Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in the speciality of General Practice. In addition to clinical work, Dr Cheng also participated in University teaching and she is the Conjoint Academician at the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales as well as the former Lecturer for Clinical Features and Disease subject at the Faculty of Science, University of Technology Sydney. Dr Cheng is also an accredited GP Supervisor for the GP Registrar, as well as the OSCE Examiner for Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is also a Surveyor with GPA Accreditation Plus, a role that she goes to other practices to perform the quality assessment as per RACGP Standards of practice. In the community, Dr Cheng served in the Australian Chinese Medical Association (a professional organisation formed by registered medical practitioners with Asian backgrounds in NSW) as the Chair of Education and Sponsorship Subcommittee, overseeing and organising all member doctors' continual medical education activities. With her exemplary and excellent service to the organization and medical education, she has been awarded to become the Foundation Fellow of the Australian Chinese Medical Association in 2018. She also serves on voluntary basis as an ongoing columnist at the Australian Chinese Daily Herald to provide up to date health information on Women's and Children's Health to the local community. Furthermore, Dr Cheng has been frequently sought by SBS Cantonese Radio Station to speak on various health topics to the general public. In 2017, Dr Cheng was presented the St George Community Individual Achievement Award by Mark Coure MP to recognize her voluntary service to the local communities. In addition to English, Dr Cheng also speaks fluent Cantonese and functional Mandarin.
