Dr. Li is an ophthalmologist in Mackay, Queensland, who offers a friendly and high-quality eye service to the community of Mackay and the Whitsundays region. He is a general ophthalmologist as well as a fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon.
Dr. Li completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. In 2017 he completed the world-renowned oculoplastic and orbital fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom where he subspecialised in surgery of the eyelid, tear duct, eye socket and orbit.
Dr. Li offers a comprehensive eye care service, including:
- Cataract and lens surgery, including modern phacoemulsification as well as manual small-incision cataract surgery for advanced cataracts, using the latest premium intraocular lenses
- Retinal diseases such as injections and laser for macular degeneration, diabetes and vein occlusions
- Glaucoma care, including laser, surgery including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery
- Oculoplastic surgery - Dr. Li has subspecialist expertise in eyelid and tear duct surgery
The rooms are fully equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including wavefront aberrometry, corneal topography, OCT-angiogram, biometer, SLT laser and YAG laser with vitreolysis capability.
Dr. Li has an interest in eye surgery in the developing world and is trained to operate on advanced cataracts via the SICS method. In addition, he is involved in research and teaching through University of Sydney, where he supervises post-graduate research students.
Dr. Li has a friendly, personal approach to patients and colleagues. The philosophy of his practice is to treat his patients with respect and take the time to explain to ensure patient understanding.
