Dr Eng Lee Ooi 'Daryl' MBBS FRACP is a clinical cardiologist with special interests in cardiac imaging, management of ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia and heart failure. He is also passionate about preventative cardiology.
In addition to his private practice, Dr Ooi holds a public hospital appointment at the Lyell McEwin Hospital as a consultant cardiologist. He has also been appointed as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide Medical School. He continues to regularly attend major cardiovascular meetings and conferences to keep abreast with the latest cardiovascular research findings.
Dr Ooi received the Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship (formerly known as Australian Postgraduate Award) for his PhD candidature at the University of Adelaide over a 3 year period commencing in 2017. His research interest is on coronary vasomotor disorder; focusing on further understanding of the coronary and peripheral haemodynamic in obstructive sleep apnoea population with angina and normal epicardial coronary arteries.
Dr Ooi is originally from Penang, Malaysia and is linguistically fluent with Bahasa Malaysia and several Chinese dialects including Hokkien, Mandarin, Cantonese and Teochew.
