Dr Lee graduated from the University of NSW in 1979. During his undergraduate training, he undertook research and field experience with the neurology unit at the University of California Medical Centre and at the Inland Medical Service, a privately operated flying doctor service which operated in north west Queensland.After graduation, he worked in various hospital and private practices in Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Albury, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, and Mary Kathleen, gaining experience in rural general practice.
Dr Lee is a CASA designated medical examiner for pilots and aircrew.
