Dr David Bosanquet is experienced in treating a wide range of psychological problems in adults, children, families and adolescents.
Treatment Approach
David has received specialist training in a wide range of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Child and Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Systems Theory, couples counselling, sex therapy and problem-solving approaches. He has experience in a wide range of issues including addictions, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, personality problems, stress and sexual problems. David’s main areas of interest are drug and alcohol counselling, family/child behavioural and relationship problems, and marriage/partner relationship counselling.
Clinical Training and Experience
David holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (1st Class) in Psychology, a Master of Science and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney. His doctoral thesis examined to what extent methamphetamine (ice) affects driving ability. This project involved testing the driving ability of illicit methamphetamine users in a driving simulator.
David is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is eligible to provide Specialist psychological services under Medicare. He is also registered to provide psychological treatment services under Worker’s Compensation claims.
David has worked in private practice for a number of years and a number of public hospitals including Nepean Hospital, Blue Mountains Hospital and Westmead Hospital (Redbank House). He is currently in the process of expanding Allgood Psychology to service the Blue Mountains and Nepean districts.
