I am a father of three who, after finishing school, initially studied Optometry at QUT where I graduated with Honours. Over the years that followed, my desire to pursue a career in Medicine deepened. I felt very strongly about wanting to make more of a difference, so I returned to university and commenced my Medical Degree, graduating from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours.
It was at medical school that I decided that obstetrics and gynaecology was the path I wanted to follow. Being able to be a part of the wonderful journey of pregnancy and childbirth is a fantastic privilege and I have witnessed just how big a difference Obstetricians can make for mothers and their babies if problems do arise during pregnancy and labour.
My early years as a junior doctor and O&G Trainee were spent in South East Queensland hospitals, including a rotation through the tertiary obstetric unit at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane. These initial years gave me invaluable experience in the management of normal and high risk pregnancies, as well as benign gynaecological conditions. The final years of my training were spent at Logan Hospital where I subsequently held a position as a Staff Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology until January of 2014. I am now in full time private practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
My main interest lies in the practice of general obstetrics and gynaecology. It’s wonderful to be able to journey alongside women during their pregnancy, and one of my greatest joys to being involved in the birth of a new baby.
My Private Practice is located at Greenslopes Hospital in association with Greenslopes Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I am accredited as a VMO at the Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital for continuity of care if preterm difficulties arise. I am also keen to maintain my interest in the education and training of future generations of doctors.
Other Interests
As mentioned, my wife and I have 3 wonderful boys and I love spending time with them, particularly on our beach holidays. I also enjoy time spent with friends and belting out some blues riffs on my guitar(s). I am actively involved in my local community and also enjoy being physically active.
