I completed the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women through the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which cemented my passion for women’s health, and particularly Obstetrics. My six year formal training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology occurred at Monash Medical Centre, Box Hill and the Angliss Hospitals and in regional centres such as Ballarat. The last two years of this were spent at Monash Medical Centre working as the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow, dealing with the most complex of pregnancies and Gynaecological problems.

Many women enter their reproductive years having had significant medical issues, for some pregnancy is possible only through assisted reproduction and for others still complications can arise during the pregnancy itself. To care for such patients to the highest standards, I pursued additional qualifications completing a further three years of formal training to become a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist of whom there are only a few in Australia. This is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which looks after women and babies with complex health problems, multiple pregnancies (twins, triplets), pregnancy complications, prenatal diagnosis and fetal procedures in pregnancy. I have been privileged to learn working alongside some of the best in the country at Monash Medical Centre like Professor Euan Wallace and Dr Christine Tippett.
