Sam works as a lifepsan psychologist, clinical educator, and researcher. Having many years’ clinical and research experience in hospital, university, and private settings, Sam is passionate about evidence-based treatment that is informed by the most current research. This ensures patients get the highest standard of treatment. Areas of Interest: Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mood and personality disorders across the lifespan.
ADHD and Exeuctive Functioning Assessment, Diagnosis, and Rehabilitation Comprehensive psycho-educational assessments across the lifespan (i.e, intelligence, academic functioning, executive concerns, ADHD diagnosis and subtyping, memory assessment, and Autism Spectrum Disorder).
Complex paediatric presentations, including the diagnosis and treatment of Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), working with children placed in alternative care, and childhood/youth trauma.
Sam’s experience working in multidisciplinary teams has influenced her practice style, which is formulation driven and collaborative. Sam’s experience working in tertiary referral settings has afforded her the privledge of forming a strong network of referral dedicated partners. This ensure clients are linked in with vetted field experts where additional specialist input is required.
Many of the clients that present in a private setting are individuals who may not have a clinical diagnosis or disorder, although require support adjusting to new life circumstances, including grief (i.e. complex/prolonged), role transitions, stressful life events, and managing interpersonal difficulties (such as navigating workplace, relationship, or family dynamics effectively).
