Kristy Delmas is a Clinical Psychologist with several years experience working in public and private settings. Her qualifications are a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from Macquarie University and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of New South Wales. Prior to becoming a psychologist Kristy completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Accounting at Macquarie University.
Kristy works with a range of issues, including anxiety and anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, relationship issues, stress and stress management, posttraumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, anger management, self-esteem, separation & divorce, bullying and victimisation, and coping and communication.
Kristy has received specialist training and experience working with Anxiety Disorders at the Anxiety Research Unit and Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University, a leading anxiety treatment and research centre. The anxiety disorders and issues that Kristy works with include social anxiety, panic attacks and panic disorder, generalised anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, public speaking fears and other anxiety-related difficulties.
Kristy has worked with older adults in hospital settings, and a wide range of individuals and issues in a private practice setting.
In addition to private practice, Kristy currently holds the position of project co-ordinator at the Black Dog Institute, where she develops and implements treatment programs and research focussed on bipolar disorder in adults and adolescents.
Kristy has co-authored a number of publications with leaders in her field, and as an active researcher she is abreast of current thinking and developments in psychology.
As a therapist Kristy seeks to work sensitively with her clients, embedding her therapeutic approaches in a relationship of trust and support.
Kristy is fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, and has specialist endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
