Kerrie Woods is a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). A member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) clinical college and an associate member of the Obesity Surgery Society of Australian and New Zealand. Kerrie provides psychological assessment, intervention and psycho education both pre and post operatively for bariatric surgery patients. Kerrie is passionate in supporting patients’ one-to-one and long term with a range of weight loss related issues, such as: emotional eating, self-sabotage, food wastage, addictive patterns, body image, identity and self-esteem. As part of her post-graduate studies, Kerrie conducted research investigating the psychosocial effects of bariatric surgery. Kerrie’s interest in treating body image disorders, eating disorders and obesity related issues continues to be one of her specialisations.
In addition, Kerrie provides clinical intervention for a diverse range of mental health presentations including; OCD, PTSD, panic disorder, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, gender dysphoria, stress management, loss and grief, trauma, addictions and personality disorders. Kerrie draws upon scientifically supported frameworks such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness. Kerrie She is committed to making therapy a collaborative process, working together with patients to achieve their goals and make positive changes to their overall well-being and quality of life.
