Ms Karen Davis (Psychologist)

Karen is a clinical psychologist who completed a combined Master of Clinical Psychology/PhD degree at Macquarie University, Sydney. She is passionate about helping clients to develop vibrant mental health and to engage fully in a valued and meaningful life. Karen is a warm, empathic and compassionate therapist who provides individually tailored evidence-based interventions. She has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Karen works primarily with adults and late adolescents with a range of psychological difficulties including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, childhood trauma, emotional dysregulation, perfectionism, self-criticism and shame, grief and loss, and relationship concerns. She is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the Australian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (AACBT). Karen has worked within hospital, community and university settings, including the past seven years at Counselling and Psychological Services at the University of Sydney. Her doctoral research focused on mindfulness and she has presented her research at both local and international conferences. Karen sees clients in the Chatswood office.
