Jules is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar, with a passion for helping support the wellbeing of her clients, particularly those experiencing trauma, personality disorders, depression and anxiety as well as emotional and behavioural problems in children.
Qualifications: Jules completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at the University of New South Wales and her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. She has completed accredited training in Mindfulness Integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT) and meditation. Jules is currently pursuing advanced and accredited specialist training in schema therapy with the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). She is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Experience: Jules has had experience working across various settings including public and private psychiatric health settings, inpatient hospital mental health units, university settings, community services and international humanitarian aid. She has experience working in short-term targeted interventions, group therapy and complex long-term treatment with children, adolescents and adults. Jules is clinically trained in a range of therapeutic approaches and has experience providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy (ST), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) and Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy (PIT). Jules has had experience working with a diversified population including people with depression and anxiety disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, interpersonal and relationship distress, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders. Jules is also interested in the interaction between psychological and physical health and has recently conducted research in the field of health psychology and is currently publishing a paper on the interaction between emotional well-being and obesity. Jules has also worked extensively with children and families and is experienced in providing Parent Management Training (PMT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with families of children who have behavioural and emotional difficulties. She is experienced in teaching parents effective techniques and strategies to confidently manage difficulties at home and assists parents to create a positive and healthy family environment.
