Julia completed her undergraduate degree and postgraduate Diploma of Psychology at James Cook University. She worked in several positions for the Department of Corrective Services and the Vietnam Veterans Counselling Service; before commencing work in the alcohol and drug sector. She has developed a special interest in providing therapeutic interventions to clients, and family members, whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse. During her 15 years of experience in this industry, she has been able to support many clients across the lifespan to achieve their therapeutic goals. She has been able to provide support to those who manage pain and is passionate about developing these skills further.
