Ms Claire Hurwitz (Psychologist)

Claire is a warm, compassionate, and authentic clinical psychologist registrar who is dedicated to providing client-centred care within a safe environment. Claire draws on a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based Therapy. Claire also incorporates psychodynamic models to address specific needs of her clients. Using these evidenced-based approaches, Claire is passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and adults to create a pathway for support, change, growth, and hope.

Claire has experience working in a variety of clinical settings including an in-patient rehabilitation service, a university clinic, and a high school. Claire works with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol problems, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, school/work-related stress, eating-related difficulties, and low self-esteem. Claire has a particular interest in relationship and interpersonal difficulties.

Claire completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at Bond University in the Gold Coast, and completed her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at Macquarie University, Sydney.

Claire works at our Neutral Bay office on Mondays and Fridays and offers after-school and after-hours appointments.
