Carmel is a psychologist who graduated from Murdoch University. She has completed several components of the Clinical Masters Programme at ECU. Carmel's previous workplace environments have included; private practice, employee assistance providers (EAP), not for profit agencies and the private hospital sectors. She has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Interpersonal Prices Therapy (IPT) as well as several of the psychodynamic therapies. Carmel is soon to include advanced Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to her training competencies. Carmel is interested in helping with: Couples Therapy FIFO relationships Adults Depression and anxiety Personality disorders Grief and Loss Workplace Issues Blended Family issues Carmel has had additional training in working with couples and families and enjoys working in this dynamic modality. Carmel seeks to create a warm and welcoming therapeutic space in which a client may feel safe and validated. She sees this as the first step in the therapeutic process. Carmel hopes that psychological therapy will become more widely used as a form of prevention and life enhancement.
