Barbara is a registered psychologist and certified hypnotherapist. She obtained her qualifications: Assoc. Dip. Welfare Studies, Bachelor of Arts (Psychology Major), Grad. Dip in Educational Psychology and Masters of Psychology (Counselling) from Monash University. She then continued working for 14 years with the university conducting research and teaching in aged mental health. During this period Barbara commenced working in private practice providing psychological focused therapy to adults with a variety of psychological and behavioural concerns.
In her counseling role, she applies an all-inclusive approach, considering the many aspects that contribute to an individual’s overall health and wellbeing. She has a genuine, emphathetic style providing a safe, non-judgemental environment. Barbara offers an eclectic approach, working collaboratively with clients to empower them, providing personalized therapy drawing from different modalities (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Hypnosis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). She has long standing interest in gut health as well an understanding of the effects on a person’s wellbeing.
