I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years counselling experience. I have worked in many different settings including Community and Health organisations and for the last 10 years in private practice. I am in my late 50s and bring a wealth of life experience to my counselling work. I practice in accordance with the professional and ethical codes of conduct outlined by the Psychology Board of Australia. I have specialty endorsement in Counselling with the Psychology Board of Australia.
I work with adults 18 years and older and have experience in the following areas:

- Depression (including post natal depression)
- Stress management
- Past and recent trauma
- Grief and bereavement
- Adjustment difficulties
I am approachable, caring and professional. I have ample experience in treating adults presenting with a variety of personal and work related problems such as mood disorders, anxiety, stress management, past and recent trauma, grief and bereavement and adjustment difficulties.
I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment so that my clients feel at ease to discuss concerns that brings them to the session. I use a variety of evidence based therapeutic interventions to address different clients’ concerns such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness and Attachment Based Therapy. We will also discuss how recent advances in neuroscience can help in managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress and trauma.
Our work will focus on exploring what brought you to counselling, the background to these concerns, how they are triggered and maintained. We will also have a conversation about your expectations and your goals for seeing me. Depending on the issue that brings you to counselling you may find that a few sessions is all that is needed to alleviate your symptoms and function more effectively. You will be involved in all phases of treatment and we will work at your pace.
