Mr Zachariah Sheridan (Psychologist)

Zac is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and with Medicare as a service provider. Zac has a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from QUT in Brisbane and completed his undergraduate degree at JCU, close to his home town. He has experience working within the area of disability support and has worked as a disability support coordinator.

Zac has experience working within schools as a Guidance Counsellor, and within various agencies as a Support Worker for people with disabilities and those with mental health difficulties. He also has experience working in clinical settings within the health sector as a psychologist. Zac has experience and an interest in assisting young people with relationship difficulties, anger management, anxiety and depression, sexuality and self-esteem.

He enjoys working with children with challenging behaviour but also has experience and expertise in psychometric and vocational assessments for children and adolescents. Therapeutically, Zac utilises art and play therapy, and enjoys engaging clients with the latest technology, including the use of ipads. He uses other therapeutic strategies including CBT and ACT, attachment based therapy, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy. He prefers a person centred approach and likes to engage his clients in the treatment process as much as possible. Zac enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds.
