Mr Marcel Noronha (Psychologist)

Marcel completed a Master of Applied Psychology specialising in Sport and Exercise at The University of Queensland. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is registered and endorsed as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Marcel’s passion and expertise is in promoting high levels of consistent peak performance for individuals and teams. Marcel works with an array of athletes, from developmental to elite levels, and for various sporting organisations and academies, including mostly recently Swimming Australia, the Brisbane Broncos, and the Brisbane Roar. Marcel also works outside of traditional sporting contexts, for example with musicians, dancers and other performing artists. Marcel has over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, and has worked with a wide range of clientele, including children and older adults. He is passionate about sport, exercise, and promoting health and well-being through psychology and physical activity. He encourages a holistic approach to health and well-being with a focus on the psychological, emotional, physical, and environmental factors that influence behaviour. When he is not working in sport, exercise or performance contexts, Marcel also serves as a psychologist for the Salvation Army, where he works therapeutically with individuals and groups in the South East Queensland region. In his spare time, Marcel is the President of the University of Queensland Rugby League Club where he aims to promote positive youth development through participation in rugby league.
