Jorge Lopez (BA Psych (Hons), MHS (Hons) ) is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Psychological Association and an accredited Medicare Provider, with over 20 years experience in providing quality counselling and support within private, government and community settings in Queensland. At Queensland Medical Centres, he consults with adolescents over the age of 16 and bulk-bills patients who have a valid Medicare card and Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. He has appointments available on a Thursday afternoon, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. He has helped numerous people achieve lasting change and improved quality of life on issues ranging from loss, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, disability, vision impairment/blindness, relationships, addiction, and the challenges of personal growth. Jorge uses a variety of counselling methods including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Relationship Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, for both assessment and treatment purposes, and maintains a strong emphasis on the use of personal insight, improved communication, and emotion management to promote the development of long-term coping strategies.
