Derek is a clinical psychologist having been employed in a number of mental health settings over the past 10 years. These include community mental health, private practice, and not for profit MH settings. He has experience consulting with a broad patient popular including adolescents, adults, and seniors. he approaches treating his patients with objectivity, compassion, and openness, ultimately focusing on patient health and wellbeing. Although Derek has been extensively trained in cognitive and behaviour psychology, he also has skills in a number of other therapeutic approaches including, EMDR, ACT, and DBT.
Derek is a psychologist with clinical endorsement, meaning in addition to his six education in the psychological sciences he has also completed a two year Registrar program.
Derek enjoys exercising and motorcycling and utilizing the skills he previously learnt as a tradesperson in renovating his old stone cottage.
