r Jason Sharbanee is a Clinical Psychologist at Cygnet Clinic and a Lecturer at Edith Cowan University.
My clinical practice is based on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I have extensive experience in EFT, following over 2 years of training and supervision with the principal developer of the approach, Leslie Greenberg, at the Emotion Focused Therapy clinic in Toronto. I am also currently engaged in the development of the EFT through various ongoing research collaborations. In addition I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have been supervised in Psychodynamic object relations therapy.
In my role as a Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, I teach psychotherapy to postgraduate trainee Clinical Psychologists according to multiple psychotherapy orientations.
A central focus of my clinical practice is on creating a safe and non-judgmental space that allows people to explore their experiences and to develop greater understanding of themselves in order to facilitate growth and change. I am particularly sensitive at working with difficult emotional experiences, and at helping people to make sense of, and to transform, painful emotions.
