Barry completed his Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2012 after completing his Bachelors of Science (Health & Exercise Science) at the University of NSW.
Given his Exercise Physiology background, Barry is a firm believer of active rehabilitation and the importance of staying fit and healthy in regards to pain. After completing his degree, Barry has remained up to date with the latest research by regularly attending seminars/lectures run by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Medicine Australia. He has completed numerous professional development courses, including Sports Level 1 and 2 courses, the sporting hip and the thoracic spine. He is also qualified to apply Rocktape / Kinesiotape and to dry needle his patients. He has every intention to go on and complete his Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the near future.
Barry's passion is for sports physiotherapy and this is reflected in his vast array of sports coverage experience. He has managed injuries at the Sydney Half Marathon, local AFL clubs (UNSW Bulldogs and Maroubra Saints), Sydney University Hockey, Australian University Games for UNSW, and even at the Ultimate Frisbee Australian National Championships! This experience earnt Barry a part time position at the NSW Waratahs, seeing him work in the Super 15, the Pacific Nations Cup and with the Waratahs Academy.
Barry has a particular interest in cervical spine conditions, shoulder injuries and post-operative rehabilitation.
