Merel is a Registered Psychologist with experience in assessing and treating a variety of mental health and disability presentations across the lifespan. She has previously worked in private practice, non-government disability and out of home care services, as well as occupational rehabilitation.
Merel has experience working with a range of presentations including autism, challenging behaviours, mood disorders, anxiety, chronic pain, stress, complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and work-related issues.
Merel has a particular interest in therapeutic parenting, positive behavioural support and trauma recovery. She is passionate about collaborating with relevant others including health professionals, family, schools. Through a variety of mediums and evidence-based practices, she seeks to assist people to meet their goals. Such practices include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
