Krystal is a Clinical Psychologist who has over 10 years of experience providing psychological intervention to adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of depression/mood disorders, life stressors and adjustment, anxiety disorders, relationship issues, grief/loss, trauma, and personality disorders.
Krystal works from a client-centred and collaborative approach, with a focus on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. She believes this is the solid foundation that is necessary to be able to foster curiosity, safety, and to help empower her clients to become experts in managing their own emotions and overcoming their difficulties.
Krystal uses a number of treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. In addition to providing individual therapy, Krystal has experience in providing education and psychological therapy groups. Krystal has trained and worked in a variety of settings including public health, private hospitals, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres, non-government organisations, and universities.
Krystal is a registered WorkCover/SIRA/CTP treatment provider, and also provides services through ‘Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling’ (previously known as VVCS). She completed her Masters of Psychology (Clinical) in 2014 at the University of Wollongong, and is currently completing her Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical). Krystal is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
