Kerryn is a registered psychologist who completed her undergraduate training and Masters of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of New England in Armidale. Both her Honours and Masters theses were research projects investigating chronic pain and psychological factors.  She has worked in various settings including northern NSW Community Mental Health with adolescents and families; adults with complex and chronic mental health problems, and in private practices with a broad range of presenting problems. Kerryn recognizes and values a respectful and supportive therapeutic relationship (especially so with young children and young people).  This enables clients to feel heard, builds a safe environment to share current difficulties, and enables exploration of personal strengths to build resilience and self-efficacy. Kerryn works from an evidence-based practice model with specific interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and has recently trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).  Focus of therapy is always about building insight, skills, and strategies to help clients build towards living a valued and meaningful life. To relax Kerryn enjoys going to the gym, time with friends, and snowy holidays whenever possible, oh and weekend cooking.
