Dr Vlasios (Bill) Brakoulias has completed a PhD in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and specialises in the assessment and treatment of OCD, anxiety and related disorders. He runs a successful research programme and in his role as Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney, he gives talks nationally and internationally. Dr Brakoulias is committed to improving standards of practice, he is the Editor in Chief of the Psychiatric Journal Australasian Psychiatry and coordinates medical student teaching and assessment in Psychiatry. He is a member of the examination committee with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and he is the Chair of the Sydney West and Greater Southern Psychiatry Training Network Governance Committee. Dr Brakoulias has completed advanced training in the psychotherapies and has additional skills and experience in cognitive-behavioural therapy, conversational model psychodynamic therapy, group and family therapy. He treats patients with exposure and response prevention for OCD and is trained in cognitive-behavioural therapy for delusions and overvalued ideas.
