Dr Smariti Kapila is an Australian trained Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon, who has trained in Sydney, Adelaide and Darwin, and has had some international teaching in Hospitals in the USA and Switzerland. This has included time at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Luzerner Kantonsspital in Lucerne, Switzerland, learning all ENT, and especially Otology (Ear), and in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, for Sinus Surgery (Nose), including the new technology of Balloon Sinuplasty.
During her training, she has worked in some of Sydney’s leading hospitals, including the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
She has also worked in Darwin, Northern Territory, and enjoyed immensely the Community Outreach program, taking her and the team to Indigenous communities in remote locations such as Nhulumbuy and Katherine in the Northern Territory.
She also enjoyed working in Adelaide, where she had the opportunity to train at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Modbury Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre Hospital.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and has obtained her qualification through this college. She is also member of the Australasian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
