ASOHNS is the representative organisation for Ear Nose and Throat Head and Neck Surgeons in Australia, and dates from 1950.

ASOHNS Members are Specialist Surgeons who investigate and treat conditions of the ear, nose, throat, and head and neck, such as:

  • nasal and sinus conditions
  • snoring and breathing problems
  • tonsillitis
  • cancer of the throat, voice problems
  • plastic surgery of the nose and face
  • hearing difficulties and deafness
  • tumours of the head, neck and ears


ASOHNS, with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, provides a nationwide Training Program for future Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeons.

Continuing Professional Development resources for Members include an Annual Scientific Meeting as well as regular lectures, seminars and workshops.

The ASOHNS Journal Supplement is published in collaboration with the Journal of Laryngology and Otoloty (JLO) twice a year as a supplement, which can be accessed online free of charge to ASOHNS members and trainees on the training program. A hard copy of each supplement is also posted to members and trainees.
