Dr Sally Finnie (Psychologist)

Dr Sally Finnie completed her Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology) at Macquarie University, and completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Bath, UK. Sally brings her passion and special interest in paediatrics to the Newcastle NeuroHealth team.

Sally provides diagnostic assessments, recommendations and parenting strategies for children and adolescents with a range of cognitive, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and Learning Difficulties. Sally is an accredited provider of Triple P Parenting Program and is involved in the Stepping Stones Triple P (SSTP) Project delivering parenting programmes to parents of children with disability.

Sally has gained experience locally at Early Links Inclusion Support Services, Kaleidoscope Children's Service, Hunter Brain Injury Service, Central Coast Adult Neuropsychology service, Specialist Mental Health Service for Older Persons, and Neuropsychiatry Service, where she has worked with clients of all ages and across neuropsychological conditions including dementia, stroke, brain injury and other neurological conditions.

Prior to commencing her Doctorate, Sally worked within pharmaceutical companies as a project manager for international CNS drug trials, and has been responsible for the training and certification of clinical trial raters across the Asia-Pacific region. Sally maintains a strong interest in research and continues to provide consultation services in this area.
