Dr Robert Saltmiras was born and raised in Sydney where he attended Trinity Grammar School. After this, he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery after five years of study at Sydney University. Dr Saltmiras has worked in a number of practices both in Australia and overseas and has acted as principal dentist in several Sydney clinics.
In 2004, the Saltmiras family relocated to Townsville. This is where Dr Saltmiras purchased a small city clinic and transformed it into My.Dentist.NQ. The clinic rebranded as Bupa Dental in 2016.
Dr Saltmiras is passionate about lifelong learning. As well as completing many continuing education courses in all aspects of dentistry, he has completed several other formal degrees and awards, including a Master of Business Administration and Post Graduate Certificate in Arts. He is also a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Furthermore, he mentors candidates for the RACDS as they prepare for their exams and work towards membership, and previously tutored medical and allied health undergraduates in anatomy at James Cook University.
Dr Rob has a passion for not only high-quality clinical care, but also for providing a great context in terms of team training, systems, and an efficient dental clinic. He is committed to helping his team become the best they can be.
His lovely wife, Philippa, has just completed a Master of Public Health and her studies to become an Occupational Therapist. They have two girls studying nursing and a son in Sydney who works as a musician.
