Dr Rakesh Arora (Orthopaedic Surgeon)

Dr. Arora is an Orthopaedic Surgeon joining Regional Specialists Tamworth from January 2019. He is presently appointed as a Staff Specialist in Orthopaedics at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital and is attached to Tamara Private Hospital. He has over 20 years’ experience in Orthopaedic surgery.

Born in India, Dr. Arora completed his graduation and Orthopaedic training there, before obtaining specialization in Ilizarov surgery in Russia. He completed Masters in Orthopaedic surgery in UK. Later he returned to India to pursue a Fellowship in Joint replacement, before practicing as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon there until 2007. His drive to achieve excellence in Orthopaedic surgery brought him to Australia. Dr Arora obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic surgery in 2016. He received his Fellowship of Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2017. He has worked with Queensland Health for more than 9 years. He holds a Fellowship in Arthroplasty and Trauma from Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner.

Dr. Arora has been actively involved in research and is a member of various National and International Orthopaedic societies. He is also appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Griffith University.

Dr. Arora is proficient in a wide range of Orthopaedic disorders of upper and lower limb including hand, foot and ankle.
