Dr Ketheesan who was born in Sri Lanka graduated from medicine in 1988. She has lived in Townsville for 18 years and was initially employed at the Townsville Hospital working as an anaesthetist before working as a GP within a variety of local practices. Prasani has been at Unihealth Medical Centre (now called JCUHealth) since 2003. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004 and has also obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Travel and Dive Medicine. She has also obtained a Certificate in Family Planning. Her interests include Travel Health, Children’s and Women’s Health, Minor Skin Procedures and Dive Medicals (Occupational and Recreational). Prasani is involved in the education of Medical Students, Interns and Registrars.
