Dr Nayagam graduated in 1974 with MBBS (Hons) from Colombo Sri Lanka and completed post graduate studies in adult medicine and geriatric medicine in the U.K obtaining the MRCP(UK) and dual accreditation in these specialities.
Prakash came to Australia in 1990 and obtained the FRACP in 1992. He has appointments at the Peninsula Health Care Network and at Beleura, Peninsula and the Bays Private Hospitals.
