Growing up in a family with a long tradition of medical practitioners, Peter Laniewski knew at a young age that he was destined to follow in their footsteps. By the time he was an undergraduate student at the University of NSW the wheels were in motion, and Peter decided to pursue a career in plastic surgery. The high quality of his formal training has allowed Dr Laniewski to dedicate himself to a professional life of surgical excellence for his patients.
As a high achiever, and with determination to excel using the latest technologies and cutting-edge procedures, Peter undertook advanced surgical training after graduating from university. Prestigious fellowships in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery gave Peter a strong foundation and knowledge-base which he continues to build on to this day.
Australian plastic surgeons are among the best in the world and Dr Laniewski confirmed this fact by accepting an international fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. The Marsden is recognised as a world leader in breast, head and neck reconstruction, and it was here that Peter honed his surgical skills among the world’s best plastic surgeons. He further developed the requisite empathy and compassion required of a caring surgeon during this time, rebuilding the breasts and lives of women who had received the devastating diagnosis of cancer.
With a desire to learn from the best, Dr Laniewski took the opportunity to train with plastic surgeons from London’s famous Harley Street and the experience empowered him to refine and perfect his skills in cosmetic surgery of the face and breast. Living in London also provided Peter with access to attend a range of international cosmetic courses in New York, Germany and France.
