Professor Illingworth is an accredited specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years’ specialist experience in assisted reproduction treatment. As Medical Director of IVFAustralia he has helped patients overcome a range of issues with fertility, and he has a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and female fertility issues.
He received medical training in the UK before moving to Australia in 1996: a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Doctorate of Medicine with honours at the University of Dundee. Following his obstetric and gynaecology training, he worked as a Senior Consultant at the UK Medical Research Council Reproductive Science Unit in Edinburgh.
Professor Illingworth is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRACOG).
His international reputation in the field of Reproductive Medicine includes over 70 published research papers and he has served on a number of senior committees of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council. He is also is a Royal College examiner in the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI)
