Maven Dental Caloundra welcomed Dr Nirmani Abeywardana to the practice in 2014 as an associate dentist (now lead dentist). Dr Abeywardana graduated from Griffith University in December 2012 with a Graduate Diploma in Dentistry, having already completed her Bachelor of Oral Health (Dental Science). Prior to joining the Caloundra practice, she spent the beginning of her dental career working for Queensland Health in the Logan District and in private practice, Brisbane.
Dr Abeywardana is passionate about dentistry and making a difference to each and every one of her patients' lives. She enjoys challenging peoples' perceptions of dentistry, demonstrating that it can be a reliable, relaxed and enjoyable experience.
While experienced in all aspects of dentistry Dr Abeywardana has clinical interest in crown and bridgework, preventative care and cosmetic dentistry. Ensuring she continues to deliver quality dental care, she regularly attends professional development courses, including: ortho training through IAAD, training in Botox and fillers and Maven Go Sunshine Coast Study Group.
Away from the practice Dr Abeywardana has interests in baking, photography, sport (badminton, squash, swimming) and outdoor activities (beach, hiking). She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, particularly the newest member, Bailey the puppy.
