Dr Natalia Mitina is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at Radiation Oncology Centres (ROC), Toowoomba.

Dr Mitina attained her medical degree at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University in 2003. At University she was awarded the Gold Medal Award for academic excellence and State Award for ‘Intellectual Treasure of Russia’.

She completed medical training at Ostroumov Teaching Hospital of Medicine and obtained specialist qualification during her training at Hertzen’s National Cancer Centre, Moscow. After moving to Australia Dr Mitina continued her radiation oncology training at Premion Cancer Care, John Flynn Hospital (now Genesis CancerCare QLD), Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Radiation Oncology Centre. She was awarded fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2016.

Dr Mitina is experienced in a number of state-of-the-art treatment techniques including brain SRS and body SABR treatment, Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH), Volumetric Arc Therapy (RapidArc) and the use of TrueBeam linacs.

Dr Mitina is actively engaged in clinical research and has been involved in several Phase II and III trials and is a passionate educator involved in RANZCR training within the Queensland radiation oncology network. She holds membership with International association for the study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), The Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) and European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). She is also an associate lecturer at University of Queensland and a reviewer for Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS).

Dr Mitina has a wide-ranging practice with particular interests in prostate, breast, lung and CNS cancers.
