Dr Nabilah Islam is a general practitioner (FRACGP) who completed her MBBS with Honours from the University of Western Australia. She also holds a Diploma of Child Health (DCH, Children’s Hospital at Westmead). She is passionate about integrative medicine and treating patients holistically. She has undertaken Bio-Balance training and finished the Primary certification of ACNEM. She is currently working towards attaining her Fellowship at ACNEM (Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental medicine). She has found through her training in integrative medicine that she can provide patients with a new perspective on the cause of their ill health and strategies to treat this. Her approach is to start with a detailed assessment of a patient’s nutrition and lifestyle and its impact on their health. Following this,the patient may be referred to undertake investigations to further assess their digestive function, hormone imbalances and /or nutrient deficiencies depending on their needs. Her approach to management involves various strategies including dietary interventions, nutrient and herbal therapies as well as bio-identical hormones. She takes care to create management plans that are individualised to each patient’s needs. Her special interests are women’s health, mental health and digestive health.
