Monique has considerable experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers and adults with a broad range of clinical presentations. Her special interests are anxiety disorders (including generalised anxiety disorder, specific phobias, separation anxiety, social anxiety, test anxiety, perfectionism and friendship difficulties) and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

She has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (with First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. In April 2014 she submitted her PhD in Clinical Psychology. She has also completed her Clinical Registrar Program to gain endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist (endorsement to be granted upon conferral of PhD).

Monique has recently published an article detailing the development and efficacy of a treatment program for children with Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Monique and colleagues developed a group treatment program aimed at addressing GAD-specific cognitive factors for children between 7-12 years (including intolerance of uncertainty, negative beliefs about worry, cognitive avoidance and negative problem orientation). Overall, they found that by three-months follow-up, all children were free of their primary diagnosis of GAD and over half were completely diagnosis free.
