Dr Mark Lai was schooled in Brisbane Boys’ College and attended medical school at the University of Queensland. He qualified as a Specialist Anaesthetist in 2000, training in both Cairns and Brisbane, after-which he undertook subspecialty fellowships in cardiac anaesthesia and neuroanaesthesia at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Lai returned to Brisbane, working as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital for five years. He is now a VMO cardiac anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, VMO neuroanaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and attends the majority of Brisbane’s private hospitals.
