Dr Besa was born in the Philippines and completed her medical training at the University of the City of Manila. She spent her initial years training at Philippines General Hospital before moving to Australia in 2008. With more than 10 years of experience as a GP, Dr Besa has a special interest in women’s health, mental health and chronic disease management. She joined Mackay Family Medical Practice in 2011 and is the practice’s full-time female GP.
