Dr Lionel Lim is a medical oncologist based at Ringwood Private Hospital. He graduated from Monash University in 1996 and completed Physician training in 2002. He received advanced training in medical oncology at the Royal Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospitals. In 2004, he worked as a research fellow at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has published several research papers in the area of colorectal and gastric cancers. Between 2005-2009, he completed a postgraduate research degree (MD, Uni Melb) at the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research into the development of a serum-based biomarker for the detection of colorectal cancer.

Since 2005 he has been in private practice at Ringwood Private Hospital, and is also a member of the oncology unit at Eastern Health (Maroondah Hospital). Dr Lim has a keen interest in tumours of the gastrointestinal tract (colon, rectum, pancreas, gastric, oesophagus), lung and prostate cancers. He regularly attends several cancer multidisciplinary meetings at Knox and Ringwood Private Hospitals (gastrointestinal, breast).
