Dr Lee Ong is a very experienced, specialist General Surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. As a General Surgeon, Dr Ong is able to ensure that both your skin cancer checks are conducted to the very highest level possible, and that if any excision or treatment is needed – it will be completed to the highest standards.
Dr Ong attained his medical qualifications from Monash University in Melbourne. In 1998 he went on to complete his Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. After specialising he undertook one year of a General Surgical Fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth 11 Hospital (QE11) in Brisbane and did a further two year stint at the prestigous Breast Cancer Unit of Sir Charles Gairdener Hospital in Western Australia where he trained in Breast Cancer and Reconstruction Surgery (Oncoplasty).
With training in both breast cancer and reconstruction surgery, Dr Ong is able to remove diseased breasts as well as reconstruct them for women with breast cancer. He also lends his expertise to the enhancement of breasts for healthy women. Dr Ong also works at QE11 Hospital in Brisbane where he performs General Surgery as well as specialised Breast Surgery. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of Queensland Medical School. In addition to English, Dr Ong speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkieen and Malay. He is a member of the Australian Society of Breast Disease, General Surgeons of Australia and Australasian Doctors Association.
